WWE is currently going through a very strange time in their company’s history. Whereas before they were the monopoly and the only place to watch wrestling, now there’s more competition in the wrestling market than ever before. IMPACT Wrestling has had a resurgence, and NJPW is making more efforts than ever to step into the American market. Meanwhile, their biggest rivals have arrived since 2019, with AEW stepping into the pro wrestling game, made up of some of the biggest indie stars outside WWE. Since then, they have added muscle in the form of former WWE stars and big names like Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, Miro, Bryan Danielson, CM Punk, and many others.
With all these stars now added, AEW looks like a formidable force and WWE is losing viewers at a never-before seen rate, getting record low viewership for their shows of RAW and SmackDown to a point where no fan thought that wrestling would fall.
However, this was not always the case. At one point, WWE was at the top of the wrestling market. With that being the case, this is Wrestling Hub, and in this video, we will take a look at the time when WWE was the most successful in ratings and the reason that they have dropped as drastically as they have.
