Hello and welcome to our live coverage for the Third T20I as we cross our fingers and hope to get a game despite the forecast again not looking very good. The good news however is that it's not raining currently in Napier and live pictures show the players going about their warmups.
When it comes to bilateral T20Is it's fair to say that no one comes close to India. This is one team that has consistently performed well both home and away and are a win away from securing yet another series win. Since the loss at home to Australia in February 2019 the team in blue have lost just one bilateral T20I series a Covid-19 stricken Indian team losing to Sri Lanka in 2021. This white-ball dominance hasn't extended to multi-nation tournaments as the results themselves signify.
Let now dive into tonight's game at Napier - Hardik Pandya's new set of T20I stars go into the game with a 1-0 lead and India can't lose this series now a creditable achievement considering they're up against a strong New Zealand outfit barring Trent Boult. The hosts will also be without Kane Williamson who misses out due to a 'pre-arranged medical appointment'. He has been replaced by Mark Chapman who should slot in straightaway with Tim Southee taking over the captaincy duties.

Pitch Report | Anjum Chopra and Ajay Jadeja - The pitch has been under covers for the last couple of hours. It looks like a belter it's hard and not a lot of moisture. Side boundaries are really small. There is an even covering of grass so the bounce could be spongy and that'll help the spinners to grip. The captain winning the toss will want to chase.
Ground Dimensions - the square boundaries are short at 57m and 60m. Longer straight boundaries at 80m and 77m at either end large pockets as well
Toss Update: New Zealand have won the toss and have opted to bat
Tim Southee - We will bat. Looks like a pitch where we can put the runs on the board. We can't really control the weather but the history of this ground suggests good batting conditions. Our bowling the other night wasn't the best but credit to SKY. Mark Chapman comes in straightaway. You look back at places where we can improve as a team.
Hardik Pandya - We wanted to bowl first anyway so we got what we wanted. I think the pitch will remain the same for the entire 40 overs but with the grass on it there could be some lateral movement for our pacers. We do keep the dimensions in mind but we do have the skill-set in our bowling line-up. We can't think too much about the conditions - One change Harshal comes in place of Washington Sundar
